It’s Debut of THE URBANITE, GREEK CHORUS and IT’S SOCIAL Stationery Lines

NEW YORK (November 8, 2010) –Lifestyle Blogger and noted author, Kalyn Johnson Chandler, announces the launch of her online paperie, effie’s paper, a selection of clean, modern stationery for those who love making a lasting impression upon all who cross their paths, personally and virtually.  In the midst of today’s super-charged world of emailing, texting and social networking effie’s paper offers a line of fine stationery that will satisfy the needs of today’s busy professional, mom or social butterfly; it’s created for those who enjoy sending and receiving beautifully-designed, hand-written notes.

The newly-created effie’s paper, named after Kalyn’s beloved grandmother Effie Hayes, features three lines of delightfully-modern, perfectly-phrased stationery products.  THE URBANITE collection captures everything important to today’s modern woman with a tongue-in-cheek twist, from happy hours and finding the perfect accessory to living her life like it’s golden.  The GREEK CHORUS collection celebrates the immeasurable bond between girlfriends, from tears, cheers and laughter to those “oh so precious” sorority memories.  And the IT’S SOCIAL collection is dedicated to modernizing the way the members of some of the oldest African-American philanthropic and cultural organizations communicate with one another.

The debut collection of effie’s paper is a reflection of Kalyn’s eclectic influences, from growing up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan to her fashionable life in the Big Apple.  “My obsession with stationery started as a child when my grandmother introduced me to the pleasures of stationery; she worked at a company called Mitchell Greeting Cards and always brought home the best notecards.  My grandmother instilled the importance of good manners and believed that a lady always had a beautiful handkerchief in her pocketbook and a set of proper stationery,” says Kalyn Johnson Chandler, the founder and creative force behind effie’s paper.  “Growing up, I corresponded with friends all over the country and spent hours in my favorite stationery store paring pretty papers with textured envelopes, colorful stickers and coordinating stamps. And now, that I have effie’s paper, I can share my love of stationery with others and bring back the lost art of letter writing!”

After ten years of practicing corporate law at a large international law firm, Kalyn returned to her first love, fashion.  In 2007, she launched her own company, STYLE by Kalyn Johnson, specializing in wardrobe makeovers and assisting clients with building seasonal wardrobes that compliment their individual style and addresses their special occasion needs. Kalyn works with television news anchors, lawyers, physicians and other professionals.  In addition, Kalyn is the author of the popular blog, Possess Your STYLE.  And, she’s one of four authors of the cult-classic, “The BAP Handbook: The Official Guide to the Black American Princess.” Kalyn holds a bachelor’s of arts and juris doctor from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree from the University of Chicago. She resides in New York City with her husband.
